Ain't Nobody's Business If You Do
by Peter McWilliams
"The Absurdity of Consensual Crimes in Our Free Society." An entertaining, witty, but at the same time informative, no-holds-barred denouncement of the injustice, staggering cost, and ultimate futility of attempts to coercively legislate personal morality. Four to six million people are arrested every year, and a third of a million are currently incarcerated, for crimes relating to such issues as drugs, sex, gambling, and unusual religious practices, that have harmed no person or property, but simply violate the idea of some as to how others should be forced to live. Also provides a compendium of some eye-opening rejoinders to many commonly-heard claims of Biblical precepts as grounds for this kind of persecution. McWilliams obviously put a lot of time into reading and analyzing what the Bible actually says, as opposed to what many zealots say it says, and are never challenged on. Particularly relevant to some of the trends unfolding in present times, perhaps.
"This is a wonderful book. May it free us all."
     -- Milton Friedman, Nobel Laureate
